LEAGUE MATCH

03rd July 2005 - Nongso Stadium, Ulsan

Won Shot Wanderers FC (0 - 1) Real Busan

It was a misty humid Sunday afternoon at Nongso Stadium when Real Busan rocked up late to face the mighty Won Shot Wanderers of Ulsan.

In ideal preparation for this epic opening day encounter of the new summer season the Wonshots turned up as predicted looking rough, ragged and incapable.

Paul had eyes like two piss holes in the snow, Scousers three tone hair poked skywards from his sanguine vodka nose and myself looking like a car crash with a perm.

Sheeno the skipper however, turned up chipper and somewhat lighter in the scrotum region having gotten laid the night before for the first time since the Industrial Revolution, much to the joy and general mockery of players and supporters alike.

The game started at a frantic pace and rarely if at all let up for the 90 minutes. It was a tight, keenly fought battle that was decided by one goal scored in the first half by Real Busan.  The Wonshots were caught flat at the back and Mike was beaten for the only time that day.

Chances fell at both ends with neither side able to finish them off. The Wonshots played with pride and passion against a very good Busan side and should take great heart from their efforts under trying circumtances.

Mike in goal made two first class saves in the first half, Sheeno was immense throughout and Lewis making his debut added some much needed aggression and attacking force to the full back position.

The game was a pleasure to be part of and the Won Shots do not have far to go to be the best team in the league.  Real were lucky, the Won Shots not so lucky. Real Busan and other teams in this league need to make sure that they field their best eleven to beat this squad.

OUR MAN OF THE MATCH: Jon Sheen - yet again our captain was there marshalling and doing the business. Without this man who is brilliant at everything other than dancing the Won Shots would not be the team they are.

OPPOSITIONS MAN OF THE MATCH: Jon Sheen - no surprises that Real Busan realise the worth of this player - an additional note, he is not for poaching, he is not for transferring and whatever is offered he won't take it - a Won Shot through and through.

REFEREES MAN OF THE MATCH: Jon Sheen - Well it looks like everybody was out for a bit of loving with our big Canadian in defence this weekend (including the Americans).

OUR MAN OF THE MATCH FOR THE OPPOSITION: Mike Lamb - he was superb and stood out as Reals most thoughtful and hardest working player today. Great game Mike may it continue.
