25th July 2004 - Ulsan

Won Shot Wanderers (0 - 2) Hometown FC

The Wonshots played HOMETOWN FC away on Sunday July 25th at 10am. Whilst we went under 2-0, it was a most heartening turn out and display. After two very hard games the previous day and an even harder night out on the town it was a great moral booster that all but ONE of our players turned up at such a godly hour.

It augurs well for the WONSHOT WANDERERS that if we can put out a team at 10 o'clock on a Sunday morning we should be able to put one out at any time. The game itself was rather uneventful. Both sides defended well but both found it hard to cope with the very high bounce of the ball on a rockhard elevated sand pitch.

It went in 0 - 0 at half time.

Hometown managed to score two rather late second half goals both of which were of a scrappy nature with the first having a glaring hint of offside about it. The often used old phrase "hometown decisions" took on a very literal meaning.

Both sides were glad that the final whistle finished it off before the 38 degree C heat did. A big thanks to their ET Kim and our Jason McCartney for bringing the two sides together for this game.

A re-match is eagerly awaited
